Inquiry Blog Introduction
Hey! My name is Alek Schoenberger. I am a sophmore at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I created this blog for my english class. The purpose I have behind this blog is to talk about certain influences of mine that were great at expressing their ideas and views on humanity and life by using the power of language. Whether it was through literature or speech.
I plan on adding videos and articles that will go in depth of my inquiry topic. I have a series of videos and articles in mind that I feel will let people know everything there is to know about the inquiry topic that I will cover. I plan on covering a topic that I feel will let my fellow students have a litttle glimpse of who I am as a person by presenting a topic that is of interest to me. Basically I would like to let the other students in the class know a little bit of where I am coming from, because for the whole semester I have just been the dude in the corner that never talks. I'm not very familiar with blogging, so this blog might look a little pedestrian, but will make it as intriguing as I can with the resources and knowledge on blogging that I currently retain. I dont retain much expertise, soooo don't expect much.

Portfolio Introduction

I had alot success with the english class I took the year prior to this one, so I came into this class with a fair share of optimism. So far this semester my optimism seemed to be paying off as I have done pretty well in this class as far as expanding as a writer and getting all my work done. This portfolio project had me a little worried at first because this wasnt the first college english portfolio that I had to do. I took english 1101 in my first year in college at UNCG, that class was taken two years ago. I felt about that class going into the end of the semester the same way I feel about how this class has gone for me going into the final week of the semester. In the english 1101 class at UNCG we were suppose to create a portfolio of all our work as well, though the work on the two portfolios were quite different. That being said, I was given an 'F' on the first portfolio, so I dont have a very fond experience so far with college portfolios. However, As my portfolio for this class had materialized I feel confident that I have presented my best work through this project and feel like I will not have a repeat of the UNCG portfolio. What was able to allow me to do this was the way Mrs. Andrews instructed her class. She had the ability to make the class interactive with one another, which allowed us as students to give and recieve insight about various ways writing and to improve as writers. I constructed tthis portfolio to a certain criteria where I wanted to present my best writing, but also areas of writing that I know could have been improved on. By doing this, I am highlighting an evolutionary pattern of work from the semester that I feel shows my improvement of as a writer that this class helped me achieve.
